There's nothing quite like the taste of homemade berry jam! Join Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tioga County for a fun, hands-on workshop where you'll learn the basics of making and safely preserving delicious berry jams using water bath canning techniques.
Participants will prepare and take home their own jar of homemade jam while learning about selecting fruit, following tested recipes, proper canning methods, and tips for successful preservation at home.
Workshop Details
Strawberries will be provided, but if you have another favorite berry you'd like to preserve, feel free to bring your own! We'll help you find a tested recipe that's appropriate for your fruit.
All jars, canning supplies, and materials are provided. No prior canning experience is necessary—beginners are welcome!
This program is valued at $20, but we believe everyone should have the opportunity to learn. Please pay what you are able. Contributions above $20 help make programs like this accessible to others and support future educational workshops in our community.
