Introduction to Canning Basics Overview

This is the first in the series of 4 for September, October, November and December of 2024.  The class will be held on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at the Home Central Showroom.133 Central Avenue, Owego, NY 13827 at 6pm-8pm.  Please register with the Donna at dlv22@cornell.edu or 607-659-5694 Jean Koski as space is limited to 10 people.

There is no charge at this class at this time, but donations are accepted to help offset expenses of supplies and time for the CCE Educators.

The series will consist of the following:

September 17- Basics/ Overview of Canning/ Home Preservation

October 15- Fermenting and Safety

November 19- High Acid foods/ Hot Water Bath

December 17- Pressure Canning 

We will have opportunity to learn, observe and ask questions on Home Preservation.

Subject may change as needed.

We will be looking at the 2025 schedule to determine dates and times for future interest of Home Preservation with our CCE Educators
