Parenting is Hard Work!

Managing schedules, balancing work and family, coping with new stages and behaviors…. All of this can be exhausting and challenging. Most parents sincerely want to do their best, but it can be confusing with all of the competing messages out there. And who has time to read every book or website?

We can help! The Family Development Team at CCE Tioga is here to provide you with accurate & current research based parenting advice. Parenting workshops are facilitated by credentialed parenting educators.

Which Parenting Education Workshop Series is right for you?

PS! It Works! is  a free 8-week series for parents and other caregivers of children ages 2 years and up.  The 2 hour sessions teach 5 essential communication skills - Encouragement, Can Do, Choices, Self-Control, and Respecting Feelings.

Incredible Years: Parenting Toddlers -14 weekly 2 hour session -child development and parenting skills specific age 1 to 3 years -Includes supplemental book and print materials Evidence based program developed by Carolyn Webster– Stratton, Ph. D.

NEW! Incredible Years: Preschool Years-  Same great program tailored to the 3-6 year age range

If you are working with Tioga County Child Protective Services you may be eligible for:

Home Based Parenting Education

  • Child development and parenting skills specific to the ages of your children
  • 15 to 20 weekly sessions in the convenience of your own home.
  • Birth to 10 years: Incredible Years evidence based program developed by Carolyn Webster– Stratton, PhD 
  • 10 to 14 years: Strengthening Families Home Use DVD evidence based program developed by Karol L Kumpfer, PhD

Reunification Series 

  • Child development and parenting skills from birth to adulthood in 16 weekly group sessions    
  • Coping skills for dealing with separation        
  • Communication skills          
  • Practical skills for preparing for reunification     
  • Research based program developed by CCE Tioga
