 CCE Tioga provides professional development opportunities to support Parenting Educators and others working with and on behalf of families. 

2018 Professional Development Opportunities

Family Development Credential Program offered by Tioga Opportunities Inc. and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tioga County.

  • 90 hours of interactive instruction, based on the text, Empowerment Skills for Family Workers, a strengths-based family support curriculum developed by Cornell University.
  • Sessions facilitated by certified FDC instructors Denene Ennis, HR Director, TOI and Jackie Spencer, Family Development Program Lead Educator, CCE Tioga.
  • Participants will develop a skills portfolio documenting knowledge and skills with guidance from a trained portfolio advisor.
  • Upon successful completion of the course, workers earn the nationally recognized and respected FDC credential. College credit or CEUs available at additional cost. FDC core content is eligible for documentation of training for the NYSPEP Parenting Education Credential applicants and renewals.

Dates and Time: Every Other Thursday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, January 11 to July 12, 2018

Session dates: Jan. 11 & 25,Feb 8 & 22, March 8 & 22, April 5 & 19, May 3, 17 & 31, June 14 & 28

Test date: July 12th

Cost: $900 registration fee includes the National FDC Credentialing fees and the FDC Worker’s Handbook.
