High Tunnel IPM Workshop

  • Monday, October 2, 2017, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Set yourself up for success in season-extending high tunnels. High tunnels are a great way to extend the growing season. Farmers and homesteaders across NYS have turned to high tunnels to increase the range of products they grow, lengthen the growing season, and maximize income. There are grants to erect high tunnels through the NRCS NY Seasonal High Tunnel Initiative. We will have lots of information how to access these grants.

What you will learn:

 Planning your high tunnel to maximize profits and minimize pests

 Major high tunnel insect pests and how to manage them

 Major high tunnel diseases and how to manage them

 Creating and using an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) plan for your high tunnels

 Tour of a farm that grows fruit and vegetables in high tunnels
