Do you own rural land and wonder what it could be used for? Have you considered leasing to a farmer or solar company…or both?
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tioga County is hosting an event for rural landowners: “Creative Rural Land Use: Leasing Your Land for Farming or Solar Production.” Join us for the workshop & discussion Saturday, November 12th, 9:30 - 11:30 am at the Candor Fire Hall, 74 Owego Rd, Candor, NY. Find out whether your land would be suitable for farming or solar production, learn about taxes & regulations, how to find a tenant, and terms & conditions to include in a lease.
Speakers are Monika Roth from CCE and Finger Lakes Land Link, a farmer-landowner matching service; Jon McNamara from Renovus Solar, a locally owned solar company; and Caleb Scott from Scott Land & Yard Services, Inc., a locally owned landscaping firm that grazes sheep underneath solar panels at several locations in the region.
So we can prepare handouts, please RSVP by November 9th to 607-687-4020. The workshop will cost $5 at the door.
